Bruce W. Findlay "Rooster"Age 48. Suddenly Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, following complications due to a courageous battle with Hodgkin's Disease. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident before recently finding his niche in Southern Illinois. A graduate of Joliet West High School, Class of 1976. Bruce's love and lifelong career was music. He enjoyed playing lead guitar and singing in many local area bands, most recently and notably "The Electric Lunatics". Bruce's career started at a very young age, and he began his career playing at benefits such as the Wish Upon a Star Foundation. Although he enjoyed playing throughout his lifetime, he especially enjoyed playing for the benefit of others. Bruce had an unparalleled love of life; to him, every day was a bonus. Preceded in death by his parents, William V. (1976) Beverly (nee White) Findlay (2004); and his grandfather, William Findlay (1986). Survived by two loving sisters, Denise (Bob) Ervin of Joliet and Jan (Mike) Ceja of Odell, IL; his beloved brother, Brian (Candy) Findlay of Wilmington; an awesome uncle to Jennifer (David) Simpson, Chuck (Keri) Simpson, Stephen Simpson, Allison (Aaron) Griffin and Scott Simpson; Jeremy (fiancee, Kim) Hawkins, Zak Alberico and Taylor Ceja; Brandi, Michael, Nicholas and Andrew Findlay; numerous great-nephews, friends and fans also survive. Funeral services for Bruce W. Findlay will be Friday, February 10, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Pastor Matt Robinson officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
